Who We Are
PKH is a nonprofit ed tech company designed to help the University of North Carolina System grow the number of adult learners through online delivery at the undergraduate level. We are equipping universities within the UNC System with best-in-class technology, processes, and student support solutions to better compete with out-of-state, online universities.
The Role
PKH is seeking a Cloud Data Architect with a background in modern data lake architecture. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of data lake layers and architecture patterns needed to support them and hands-on experience using a range of related AWS services, including AWS S3, AWS Glue, AWS Step Functions, and Amazon Eventbridge. Experience working with distributed and big data computational frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop, Hive, and AWS Glue to drive the design and development of ETL workflows will be required for this role. The candidate will need to have the ability to implement data modeling techniques and develop entity relationship diagrams and data schemas. As a hands-on architect, understanding DevOps practices, including value streams, feedback, and continuous improvement, will be needed.
This position will be a part of a new team of three Cloud Enterprise Architects that will work closely together. Each member will bring a unique technical skill set with focus on either Data Architecture, Application Development, or Platform Engineering.
This position is based in North Carolina.
